Opened in 2003, the Regional Observatory, located in Saint Barthelemy, 2by Nus in the town, is open to the public for visits and direct observations. The structure was built specifically to be used by students and amateur astronomers. In addition to the 810 mm main telescope, the observatory provides powerful tools for amateur astronomers for observations of celestial bodies, while for the less experienced and observations guided tours are available. For school visits are completed by a laboratory helium physics, a computer room, a teaching program consists of two exhibitions and an internal path of the planets (a series of illustrative panels on the solar system, placed at distances proportional to the actual distance from the sun) . Classes are accompanied by experts in astronomy and education. The goal is ideal for schools, but a night of observations of stars, galaxies, nebulae and planets also will enthuse and excite people to fast astronomical knowledge.
